Merton Primary School - Merton, WI - Celebration Day

Overview
  • Took place on a Friday (rain date Monday) and was from about 12:00 - 3:30. This year will be all day!
  • Every grade level gets a different color T-Shirt which is donated by the PTO.
  • Lunch is served from our lunch service (hot dog, hamburger, chips, veggies) or they can bring a cold lunch. We eat outside that day!
  • Everyone is outside for lunch from 4K-8th grade (about 1,100 kids)
  • Our younger grades participate in the run (1/2 mile or 1/4 mile) as one of their stations in the afternoon. Older grades run in our mile race before lunch and then participate in their activities after lunch.
  • Teams were set up in their classrooms. Every teacher kept their class!

These are some of the kids all time favorite games

This game takes cooperation between taggers and it is great for fitness and fun!

Here is another good tagging game. Easy to teach and mininimal equipment needed. Another great fitness activity!

Here are some of my favorite fun parachute activities that all kids love to do! Talk about FUN!

Here are some fun relay races where many kids get to participate, but the activity levels are lower. This will help in their recovery to participate in other activities. You need to slow them down sometimes!

This is an awesome cooperative activity that needs to be done indoors, but it's nice to have kids get drinks during this station and they get to feel the air conditioning and cool off!

My favorite cooperative activity that they get to get wet at! Tons of fun!
